Pfizer drops Thelin from Europe, Canada and Australia

This drug was intended to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Unfortunately, two patients died during the Clinical Trial, due to liver problems.

The drug was previously approved in markets outside the US, but never within the United States.

Under pressure, the company voluntarily withdrew the drug.

Sales of the drug Thelin peaked at 44.4 million in the first nine months of 2010.

For these efforts, chairman Jeffrey B. Kindler was given a $4.5 million retirement package.

It would be interesting to know how much money Pfizer will pay the patients it killed?
