Double Blind Study | Keeping Clinical Trials Honest

What is a Double Blind Study?A double blind study is a study or experiment that is specifically designed to prevent fraudulent results for whatever reason.

The premise is that both the administrators of and patients enrolled in a study have no idea what treatment or substance is being administered to what group. They are both in the blind.

The problem with this rational is that people administering a study often have a close connection with the study, and in fact typically have access to documentation in a readily available manner. Do you trust people to hide things from themselves? I don’t care if a study is “double blind” and a “cross-over experiment” – fraud, corruption and the innate selfish human nature, makes these attempts at transparency somewhat unbelievable.
